Backwoods Camping Supplies:

Essential Backwoods Camping Supplies You Need:

There is nothing quite like camping outdoors to connect with nature, your family, and yourself,  but what backwoods camping supplies do you need?   We have taken the replies of our readers, past surveys, and our experience to give the following essential camping checklist:

1.  Clean drinkable water
Many parks offer water spots but if you are truly going backwoods, you need your own supply. Many times a simple CamelBack will suffice as most hold all the water you need for a few days and are easy to refill. They fit easily into backpacks and are equipped with a spout to keep around your shoulder so you wont miss a step on the trail when thirst hits.  Keep a water filter kit handy.  Click here for water purifier options.

2.  Food

When it comes to food it is easy to get carried away. But keep in mind with backwoods camping supplies you carry everything in your bag. Avoid bulky pots, pans, and coolers, and opt for one mess kit. Mess kits are lightweight, portable, and unbelievably useful. With mess kits less is more, and the pots and pans  may also be used as eating utensils.

NorthFace Camping Tent

3.  Tent
While there is a wide range of tents available, the overriding concerns should be durability and weight.  Being lightweight will always be better than the style or color of your tent.  Keep under 6 lbs.

4.   Sleeping Bag
Choose a down sleeping bag if you know you’ll be in non-humid or rainy environment, otherwise choose synthetic (retains warmth even when wet).

5.  Lighter
Fire remains one of the most elemental items. Without it in backcountry camping, eating and staying warm will be impossible. Long gone are the days of rubbing two sticks together. Lighters are small, durable, and highly effective to starting a fire.

6.  Warm/cold weather clothes
Be sure to pack proper clothing.  Should rain, snow, or cold weather strike when you’re miles away from your car or other people, having extra warm clothing will keep you warm, dry, and healthy. Hypothermia is the number one cause of death to people lost in the wilderness. Many forget just how much temperatures can drop once the sun sets. Be sure to layer clothing; it is always easier to remove or add as the temperature fluctuates.

7.  Flashlight
The only thing worse than getting lost is getting lost in the dark. Be sure to pack a flashlight in your backpack or wear a headlamp. Even around your campsite, a light will help you with all tasks once the sun sets. And with increasingly longer battery lives, these small portable devices can save the day.

8.  Knife
Small and versatile, a knife is is one of the most important tools of backwoods camping supplies you need. Whether you need it for protection or to catch food for the day, a knife is essential.  Injured? Use it to cut clothing for bandaging. Cold? Use it to collect kindling and firewood. Hungry? Use it to catch and eat food. Remember, you don’t need a giant machete to get by in the woods. A simple pocketknife can do wonders, just make sure it is sharp.

9.  First aid kit
It only takes one wrong step to become injured outdoors. Trails can be rocky, rocks can be slippery, branches can be sharp. Be prepared for any injury by purchasing pre-packaged kits or make your own.

10. Ground mat
Sure you have your tent and sleeping bag to protect you from the elements, but without a ground mat, you’ll be surprised how miserable a night gets if you forget this item. Expect to wake up to a pool underneath your backside if rain, snow, or humidity is present. Ground mats are lightweight and can roll into your tent so you will barely notice it is in your pack.

11.  Map and GPS Unit
Even seasoned campers can get lost. And being lost without a map can be terrifying. Sure it is possible to find your way home or at least to get help, but why risk it? Maps fold up to almost nothing and fit inside backpacks or pockets.  GPS units are inexpensive and can be invaluable if lost.

12. Good pair of hiking boots
If you are going backwoods, the terrain can be tricky and loafers and many tennis shoes will not cut it.  One of the most valuable backwoods camping supplies, hiking boots can be very comfortable and durable, while not costing a leg to buy them.

13. Garbage bags
Perhaps the most forgotten item to pack, garbage bags are actually one of the most important things to bring on any camping excursion. garbage bags are unbelievable versatile for nearly all backwoods camping supplies.  If cold or wet weather hits, cut a small hole in the bottom of the bag and slide it over your head. Now a poncho, garbage bags can keep you dry while keeping the warmth of our body.

14. Lantern
You need light inside your tent for most activities and a flashlight is normally too directional.  Get a battery operated lantern for inside the tent rather than a fire lighted one because fumes can be deadly.

15. Internal/External Frame Backpack
A backpack combines all of the necessities above into one convenient method of carrying along everything with you.  With multiple pockets, straps, and size carry the day.

The above list is by no means everything because everyone has their favorite essentials such as entertainment items and other comfort needs. Compile your own backwoods camping supplies list to maximize your fun camping experience.

What backwoods camping supplies don’t you need?

Check out the items you think you need but can actually leave at home:

1. Pillow

Sure they are comfortable, but these bulky pleasures are difficult to pack, an annoyance to carry in and out of sites, and in nearly all instances completely unnecessary.

2. Compass

Surprised? Compasses can be useful and many campers may choose to bring one, but remember, the time and direction can all be calculated by using the sun. And GPS units are everywhere now.

3. Anything Cotton

When packing clothing, be sure to include materials that are lightweight, keep body heat in, and wick away moisture. Cotton is an unforgiving material when camping – it is difficult to keep dry, allows heat to escape, and can actually lead to overheating.

4. Single-Serving Food

They may be useful for astronauts but single serving foods actually create a bigger hassle for campers.  The convenience of a meal in a small pack flies out the window when you realize the amount of waste they create. Remember you carry out what you carried so try packing foods like granola in bulk.

5. Matches

One of the biggest misconceptions in camping is that matches are essential. Many fail to realize that if these little fire starters get wet they are completely useless. And that’s why the durable lighter is best.

6. Water Bottles

Remember for backwoods camping supplies, you carry out what you carry in, so avoid packages of water bottles which only create more waste. See the #1 item under essential backwoods camping supplies on what to take and avoid bulky plastic.

Your Questions About What To Take Camping For Food

Your Questions About What To Take Camping For Food

Carol asks…

What kind of food to take camping?

My husband and I will be going to a primitive campground next month. I haven’t found any info on their website about whether or not they have something you can use to cook.

Do most primitive sites have grates that can be used over fires for cooking? I haven’t been camping in 20 yrs, and I’m clueless about what to bring.

If you camp, what kind of meals do you cook? What about things like milk and eggs? Just keep them in a cooler? Thanks.

J Camp answers:

In my experience, primitive sites do not have fire grates unless they are controlled by the government or state. And even then, there is a shot that you won’t have a grate. So the rule of the boy scouts is to be prepared. Take a small grill that you can use with firewood or with just charcoal.
Take charcoal with you as well as matches and lighter fluid. Some places do not allow you to bring firewood into the campsite for fear of bring critters into their forest preserve.

Plan each meal so that you have enough for the entire time. Pack stuff in Zip loc bags so that when your ice melts, you won’t lose the food.

Take a water-tote so you can carry water into your campsite.

Don’t forget a lantern and flashlight as well as tp and that’s not an Indian Tee Pee either. (toilet paper)

I suppose you should not forget your tent either.

Your Questions About Camping Supplies Cheap

Steven asks…

Camping in Australia?

I would like to learn more about camping in Perth Australia. I am planning a trip there next year. What are the entrance fees like: Daly, weekly, monthly? Can one get around Perth easily by bicycle? Does anyone know any websites in Australia that sell camping equipment; Tents, sleeping bags, and supplies? This is to find out if it is cheaper to buy my own here in Canada, or pick these items up in Australia. Where are the best places to camp, Perth on the West Coast, or other places on the East Coast of Australia, by the way my age next year will be 60, I am retired and looking for adventure down under, any suggestions are appreciated, thank you.

J Camp answers:

Here is a link to camping in Western Australia:

http://www.westernaustralia.com/en/Things_to_See_and_Do/Outback_Adventure/Pages/Camping_In_Western_Australia.aspx

Here is a link to one shop that sells camping goods:

http://www.camping-r-us.com.au/

You can google many more.

I would think it would be cheaper to buy in Australia, as the cost of excess baggage on the flight may be prohibitive and you can travel to Australia with less stuff to carry.

There are countless campsites in Australia and southern NSW is really nice for camping.

Lisa asks…

need cheap transportation to hotel from airport in dallas, tx?

Hey i am going to cr england trucking school on sunday the 19th and im flying to dallas from charleston, sc instead of the alternate bus route that they supplied. The hotel they are putting me in is about 25 miles from dallas fort worth airport. There is no shuttle to that hotel because it is too far. Does anybody know any cheap transportation to get to the hotel. i called a cab service and they said about $55. Does that seem right at all. The hotel is the best west or formerly ramada inn on 711 east camp wisdom rd. duncanville, tx for anybody that is familiar with this area.

J Camp answers:

Cab price sounds about right. The cab prices in Dallas are regulated by the city so they will all cost the same. You can try Super Shuttle, it will be $36, but you will share the van with up to 7 people. Http://www.supershuttle.com/ click on “need a fare quote” and the zip code for that hotel is 75116, click the button that says search hotels and you will be able to type in ramada and pick the one you’re at. The fare from DFW airport to the one in Duncanville came to $36.

George asks…

After Child Support to ex-wife, Should husband pay for extras?

Let me start by stating that my husband is a good father. He spends quality time with all his children (2 w/ex-wife & 2 w/me). He gets my 2 step-children on the weekends and has never canceled on picking them up, he’s never been late on child support, and he’s never been in arrears. Also, he drives an hour to pick them up and an hour to drop them off b/c it’s cheaper to live out of the city. She got the house when they divorced & we’re still in an apartment. And, this past summer, she claimed she had to take a trip & asked that he keep them the whole summer instead of the 1 month that’s outlined in the decree. He agreed b/c he wants his children at all costs & she kept the child support checks all summer. The point is that he’s a wonderful dad and not a deadbeat. His ex-wife petitioned the divorce b/c she claimed she married too young and wanted out. Now, recently his ex-wife has been asking him if he would agree to pay for camps, school supplies, dance classes, piano classes, etc. It never seems to stop. My question is: Should he pay for extras??? I’m starting to wonder if she’s using him or does she really need the help for the children. Mind you she makes more money than him. I don’t want to come off as the greedy step-mom, but, should he feel obligated to pay for extras or should she make ends with what he gives? Please no bias answers from mothers who don’t receive child support from their children’s fathers. Believe me, there are men out there who do their fatherly duties. His ex-wife just wanted out regardless that he’s a wonderful husband and provider.
Oh, we also pay for health insurance, which I’m sorry is pretty expensive. When I got married, I jthought that my hubby would just pay child support and health insurance. And, of course a car when they’re 16, college, & of course the weddings. But, piano lessons? He still should pay more?

J Camp answers:

I feel you pain…. My husband deals with the same crap, and sadly most the time we just give her the money to prevent her from being a bit**. But at some point you have to draw the line. I don’t think you should have to pay for “extras” on top of paying child support which I’m guessing is about 30% of his income (actually more when you count the health insurance he is providing). You guys also have a house to maintain for these children and many of the same expenses as the mother does.

You should check with your states statutes regarding extended visitation credits for when a child you are paying child support on is in your care for more than 27 consecutive days. In my state you can get 50% of the child support you paid back for these time periods. Allthough 50% seems pretty crappy, its better than getting nothing back and paying someone money when it is obviously not going towards your child. You too house them, clothe them, feed them and so forth. Go get what is rightfully yours.

I say our men need to put their foot down. The court calculated child support according to the law and child support is meant to help pay for those extras. My hubby doesn’t accept child support for his two children that live with us full time (their mothers act like it would burden them too much and its just easier to not deal with it), yet he pays out the ass for the one that lives with her mother and she continually asks for more. I think as soon as that gravy train tops throwing out money the requests will eventually stop.

Paul asks…

3 week camp supply list ?

im going to a sleep away camp for 3 weeks and im a 12 yo girl (:

like how much shaving creme would i need ?
how many shorts and shirts ?
socks and undies ?
any other things?
please help ! (:

J Camp answers:

Well i cant really answer any of these questions because they’re all based on your personal routine and such. If you shave your legs like everyday you’re going to need a lot of shaving cream, but if you shave once a week you won’t need as much. Also on clothes and stuff i would just count out each day and decide how many shirts and underwear you need a day (like you might want extras in case you spilled something or whatever) and for shorts and stuff i would suggest bringing enough to rotate… Not enough for everday… You can rewear shorts and pants as long as they’re not super dirty. Just go through your daily routine in your head and make a list of everything you need in a day.

J Camp answers:

I work at a betsey and those shoes (“glitter pollys”) are actually from last spring. I know this response is a little late but if you still want to try tracking them down try calling one of the outlet stores:

California – 805.987.4002
New York – 845.928.4679
Texas – 956.565.0110

Just ask for the Lemon Glitter Pollys in the size you need and hopefully they can help you out.

I’d buy pink heels but I don’t want some shoes that I’ll wear only once. I have shing black peep toes with bows on them…do black pumps look ok? What kind of shoe?

J Camp answers:

Definitely not black. Go with pink or cream, and get a simple shoe. Let your dress be the main focus of your outfit.

Your Questions About Betsey Johnson Shoes

Joseph asks…

Steve Madden or Betsey Johnson shoes?

Why?
Or other similar brands?

J Camp answers:

Im going to be the dissent and say betsey johnson.

Steve madden shoes are so BORING, like you’ve seen them all before and you’d probably see the same shoe again at prices much more expensive and much cheaper, because EVERYONE’s making the same things.

Betsey johnson shoes are unique, playful, colorful. No-one else is making shoes as cute as hers (okay…some people are, but those shoes are much more expensive than the $100-200 range). If you wear betsey johnson shoes, you can rest assured that few other people will have the same style as yours, and that is to your gain because the shoes are that adorable. It’s also almost twice as expensive, but the quality and design make up for that, in my opinion

that being said, if you’re a staid conservative person, you’d better go with steve madden. If your youthful and flirty, i’d go with the betsey johnson.

Your Questions About What To Take Camping With Kids

Donna asks…

I would like to take my two kids camping, for the first time, what should I bring other than a tent?

I have two kids, ages 8 and 9. I am a single mom. I bought a tent and would like to take them camping, but am unsure of the types of things I should bring. I know the basics, tent, blankets, first aid kit, food, insect repellent. But I’m looking to do this for as cheaply as possible. Here is what we have so far, blankets, pillows, tent, and even transportation to and from a camping site, we’ve got bottles to fill with water, and even some sparklers for fun. Any ideas? I’m sure I could come up with a list on my own, but I’d prefere to get suggestions from people who have already been there and done that. Thanks in advance
I’ve decided to go to a camp grounds, especially where it is our first time. I’d like to go for three days. It will cost me about 120 bucks {still looking for cheaper} So far all the suggesstions are awsome, and informative. I’m learning a great deal. I am also going to try to convince another adult to come to so that I can sit back and relax.

Your Questions About What To Take Camping With Kids

Chris asks…

Camping with kids?

I’m taking my 3 kids camping this weekend with my parents, while hubby stays home (he has to work, and is NOT a camper!). I’m wondering what all I should pack for the kids to keep them busy & occupied. It’s a small private peice of land that was given hook up’s and what not that my dad’s boss owns. It’s not a traditional campground- no playground, no camp store, no basketball court, etc. It’s on a river, but it’s one that isn’t suitable for swimming (at least at that spot).

So, what should I take or pack for them? I have not taken them camping since I was pregnant with my youngest, and my middle child didn’t do well (he was only 2), so we have not done this before. My kids are 10, 7, and 4. Any idea’s?

J Camp answers:

OK, this is fun with kids that age… Bring lanterns so at night you can tell stories, bring marshmallows, so you will burn them in a fire… Bring books, if you have, bring a telescope so you can see the stars at night..
It will be so much fun!! An adventure!!

Betty asks…

Camping With The Kids Question???

My husband and i are taking the kids camping at his moms cottage, we figure it’ll do the kids some good to have the experiences of camping while being outdoors. Mt problem is this my mother in law lives on a small island so her home is surrounded by water so i am deathly afraid that my 4yr old son who is very defiant and very daring will leave the tent in the middle of the night and purhaps go into the lake and drown cause he can’t swim yet.
Would it be wrong of me to padlock the zipper from the inside while i’m in there to prevent this from happening or do you think he’ll be to afraid to leave the tent?
My husband thinks he’ll be fine but in our own apartment he tore out his screen and crawled out the window(basement apartment) and hopped on a city bus for 2 blocks before the driver brought him home.(the things kids do when they go to bed or when your not looking, sheesh)
what should i do? I’m really afraid and considering cancelling the trip because of this.
going to the bathroom isn’t a problem he is still wearing pullups to bed at night.

J Camp answers:

No. Don’t padlock the zipper. What if he has to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night? A better idea is for you to sleep in the tent with him perhaps with your sleeping bag in front of the door. That way if he wants to “sneak” out he won’t be able to because he will have to go through you first.

Your Questions About What To Take Camping With Kids

Thomas asks…

Should KIDS be allowed to take cell phones to camp?

Lately, there has been some controversy regarding certain camps in my community and their policies for parents and children. The current policy is that the kids attending the camp cannot bring cell phones, cameras and/or call their parents. The mission of the camp is to teach children independence and responsibility AWAY from their parents and the camp directors believe that if the children are in constant contact with their parents, it defeats the purpose of trying to foster independence from them.

Should the kids be allowed to take their cell phones and talk to their parents while at camp or not?? The camp is for 2 weeks and the ages of the children participating range between 8-18.

Personally, I would NEVER support a camp that would not allow minor children to contact their parents/guardians at any time of their stay. What do you think??

thanks for sharing your thoughts :)

J Camp answers:

I agree with you. If the child is homesick, they should be able to talk to them, but really not bring their cell phones so they can call whenever you want… But i do agree that the children there need to learn how to be independent…. Without their parents. So yes i agree that they should not plus in some camps you can’t even get cell service so what’s the point?:!

How can i get a large group of hyper kids to take a nap?

Im helping this lady with a day camp…It’s made of mostly younger kids, 5-10 years old…We tried to have them take a nap today, but they were so hyper, and we didn’t know what to do to calm them down.. I know that you can do an activity with a lot of running and such, to calm them down… is there anything else I can do??
Well look, it’s not like we’re forcing them to go to sleep, we just want to do something to calm them down. We took a vote to see how many of them would like a time to nap throughout the week, and about 3/4 of them raised their hand. We were going to have them sleep, but their energy grew, so me and the supervisor decided that it would be a good idea for me to look it up, and see if there was anything to help them fall asleep, if them still wanted to.

Slip the monsters a Micky (just joking) I’m one of the many that don’t like to be around kids.

Your Questions About What To Take Camping With Kids

Steven asks…

My best friend always wants to take this kid with him everywhere. What should I do?

I am a 49 year old, single, straight male. My best friend is a 57 old, single gay male. I haven’t been in a relationship in about 2 years due to health and financial problems and my friend, I’ll call him “Dave” has not been in a relationship in over twenty years, not even really dated. Anyway, we have been good friends for about twenty years. We go to the movies, go to lunch, stuff like that. Dave is a pretty strange guy I have to say, a lot of weirdness about him. But I’m no picnic either, and have problems with depression, weight gain, etc, but I do like to date and get out when I am able-Dave does not though, he says he’s had it with the dating scene. Anyway, the thing is Dave has this think about boys. I know it sounds weird but he always likes to be friends with a little boy. I’ve seen him go through about three of them now, he starts out befriending them when they are about 7, 8 or 9, usually neighborhood kids, and then when they reach adolescence they usually don’t want to hang around with Dave anymore and he finds a new one. I’ve had a hard time dealing with this over the years because it just seems so weird. And I’ve told him that and so have his other friends (“in so many words”) over the years too that its just kind of strange. The problem is now Dave is friends with this kid I’ll call Bobby who is about 10. And whenever I try to plan something with Dave he automatically tries to include Bobby with whatever it is we are doing. Sometimes he even takes the kid camping but I won’t go because that just seems even too strange to me. As friends, we are all expected to be on board with this friendship that Dave has with Bobby, if you even mention it in a negative way he gets very defensive. He is vehemently against pedophiles, and I truly believe he has never touched one of these kids or ever would-but then I think I read somewhere that pedophiles are more emotionally about kids then they are physically, is that true? Who is the one with the problem? Me because I can’t accept hanging around Dave when this kid has to be around, or Dave because he always wants this kid around? The other think is too, Bobby has two sisters about the same age and Dave won’t take them anywhere. I mean, I know hey, maybe the guy just likes kids, but it seems so weird that its always boys he hangs around with and he will never take Bobby’s sisters anywhere and doesn’t want to be around them. Me, I really just don’t like kids that much I guess-I have gone to the park with Dave and Bobby before and it was kind of fun I guess, but really I prefer to be around adults. What should I do? Should I just be more accepting of Dave and his penchant for hanging around with kids or should I regard this as really just too weird and find new more normal friends?

J Camp answers:

No , no NO you should not be accepting of this! You obviously have a little doubt in your mind about why your friend wont take Bobby’s sisters out to play. Why does your friend only befriend little boys? That isnt right and the bell went off in my head too.

Where is this kid’s parents? I would be concerned for his safety. And yes pedophiles do almost want to have an emotional attachment to the child so he may seem like he is doing nice things for Bobby , taking him out to the park and whatever ,but why only male children? Why not Bobby’s sisters? You have to ask yourself these things.

Another thing you could try doing , is pretending I guess to be “interested” in children too , and see how your friend reacts. Like maybe you could falsely make a sexual suggestion involving the child and see how your friend reacts.

This is legitimately concerning, and I hope you do the right thing to get to the bottom of this whole child thing..OH and Im GLAD you’re there with the child to make sure nothing happens to that boy!

DO SOMETHING about this!

Your Questions About What To Take Camping With Kids

Nancy asks…

What was your worst camping experience?

What was your worst camping experience?
Hi. My husband and I decided to take 6 kids camping with us and 2 of them were mine. The rest were my nieces aged from 6-13. My kids Lizzy age 2 and Maddie age 4 and my nieces Alayna age 6, Nicole age 10, Jaymee age 11 and Britney age 13. I am 28 myself and my husband is 29. We decided since Alayna, Nicole and Jaymee haven’t seen Britney since 2009 (Britney moved, but shes moved back into the area) we would take them all camping, BAD IDEA. Well lets start from the begining, we were packing up for 1 weeks trip. All of that food, blankets, pillows, toys etc. We filled up 2 cars with all that stuff (we took 3 total). So we get all packed up and leave. Now Britney has never been camping before. As soon as we got up there Nicole, Jaymee and Britney went to the bathroom and complained about how dirty it was and was recording on the phone saying “the camp store is cleaner than those bathrooms”. Then they were talking in hillbilly voices (ANNOYING) and wouldnt shut up while me and my husband were trying to put up our trailer tent. They were singing very loudly with hillbilly voices. Then all the little kids were throwing fits because some couldnt sit by Britney and blah blah blah (They did this alot). Then they argued over who got the tenis racket (we only ahd 3) and the younger kids were screaming and crying because the older kids wouldnt give them turns. Then we let them take a walk on their own before dinner was ready (all together) and who-ever was the “brilliant one” and decided to teach the little kids to knock over port a pottys and chase golfcarts and it was raining too and i went to go look for them and they were going to the place where they tell you what activites there is to do that night (WE TOLD THEM BEFORE WHAT ACTIVITES THERE WAS) and i picked up the little kdis in my car there was no room for the big kids so i made them walk and (stalked them) to make sure they go back to the tent. Then we took them to the park and they were argueing over the teet or tot and my daughter got a splinter and it strated pouring it was horrible, Went back to the tent. Then Nicole wanted to sleep by Britneyy tonight (they stay upo and talk and giggle so NO). She has the biggest fit ever and cried and said “your not the boss of me” and “im not eating ” and “my mom made me come on this trip i didnt want to i hate you” and she called her mom and asked to be picked up (Her mom refused to drive because the campsite was 2 1/2 hours away and it was 7pm). So then we ate dinner and they went to the creek now my 2 year old daughter was scared to walk in the water and Jaymee was holding her and asked help from Nicole and Britney but they just left them and went up more in the creek, that irratated me. Then they went to roast marshmellows and burnt everyone of them ON PURPOSE (the older kids im talking about) so it was in the fire. I yelled at them. So theyw ent into the camper. There bed was being help up by 2 steel rods and they jumped ON PURPOSE (they know not too) and one cracked so we yelled at them. Then we went to bed from 9pm-12:30am they were up ALL NIGHT (dont ask why i have NO IDEA they woke me and my husband up, we didnt have any sleeping pills either) shaking the camper, bouncing up and down, making fart noises, whispering, laughing, getting in and out of the camper being OBNOXIOUS (the OLDER kids not the younger ones). Then at 4:30am Nicole was yelling “lets gather around the campfire and sing our campfire song” in a hillbilly voice. I yelled at them to go to bed and this is never happening again and were leaving tomorrow. I turned the TV off at 1:00am so they were doing this in pitch blackness. The little kids were asleep the whole time NOT US. We yelled at them constantly but they didnt care. So the next day we got the lil ones up at 6am and ate breakfast and went golfing (mini golfing) and i dont know why i wasted the 10$ on the older kids cuz they were being smarta$$es and using their hands (video recording it) and going on seperate courses cuz they didnt wanna wait for the lil ones. They said to me in a hillbilly voice “wasnt that a great game of golf arnt we the best golfers” Then we went past a sign that said have a beary good day and theyre like “aunt zoey r u having a beary good day” and saying beary after EVERYTHING they said. We told them to pick up the ground before we left they threw everything in the fire and video recorded it (That made me furious) so I told them to go to the car. They are the most disgustingest people ever. They didnt bring deodarent ON PURPOSE and lifted their arms up (they were sitting there for 45 minutes and doors wer shut) My car windows were foggy and oh my god we had to air out the car i made them leave all the doors open and sprayed them with febreeze for 10 minutes. Then Nicole lifted her arms up again while we were driving I yelled at her. We went home t

J Camp answers:

A freak blizzard in mid june 3 years ago, it went from +25C to freezing in about 8 hours. We were roughly 50 kilometers from the vehicle and over night the snow was knee deep and everything was soaked plus the tents all collapsed. It took 2 days to get out and we came across two grizzlies and an other couple black bear. Poor trip that was.
I live in the British Columbia Rockies.
